Small 4to. 10 ½ x 7 ½ inches. 6 double page and 3 full page maps of the estate and farms, each with accompanying notes regarding tenants, names and acreages of the various fields and plots. The maps are finely executed; the boundaries especially are defined in an uncommon and attractive style, the outline hand-colouring delicately rendered. John Fryer was from a family of map-makers, being responsible for one of the earliest maps of the County of Northumberland, being the first to place the county correctly as regards longitude.
