Includes a portrait of Josef Hoffman [at age 13] a musical prodigy who elicited comparisons with a young Mozart and Medelssohn ; he was probably the first pianist of note to record on Edison’s phonograph. Also included is Otto Hegner [at age 12], another child prodigy, who like Hoffman, undertook extensive concert tours in North America.
