Stockport Friendly Club [Society] Headed Paper and Manuscript Letter.

By: FRIENDLY SOCIETY

Price: £125.00

Quantity: 1 available

Single sheet, 185 x 130 mm. The blue printed heading shows a forest tree with a pair of workmen holding wood-cutting tools. Letter from James Banstead to his family, especially to his brother to whom he outlines the benefits of membership of this Club, dated February 12th 1826. Obviously not a great letter writer as he is replying to his mother’s letter of May [1825]; as well as outlining the benefits of work, and the club, he also informs his family of the ages of his children.
