The scarce first edition of the second of Dearn's collections of plans: "In the present instance it has been my endeavour to render the work beneficial to others rather than honourable to myself...It has been attempted in these designs for dwellings to unite the two grand essentials, convenience and economy..." The first collection consisted of more grandiose public and private designs.

However, a pleasing set in the original wrappers with a little slight fraying to the oversized wrappers. With an additional offprint in printed wrappers of the section on the “Common Oak” inscribed “With Compliments of H.J. Elwes F.R.S.” Limited Edition of 500 copies. A very good copy in the original parts complete with all blank leaves, slips, subscribers notices and plates. [Nissen BBI 595]. topog
