[bound with] A Faithful and Detailed Account of the Last Campaign of Buonaparte, Terminated by the Battle of Mount Saint John, Otherwise Called Waterloo; or, La Belle Alliance, by an Eye-Witness. translated from the Third Edition of the French. To which is added The Russian General's Account of the Campaign... John Booth, 1815. pp. 8vo. pp. [4], 104; large hand coloured folding map: [6], 110; coloured folding map. Contemporary red half sheep, minor repair to the head of the spine otherwise Very Good. As well as the Raglan and Cefntilla bookplates, this copy also has the bookplate of Christopher Cole [1770 - 1836] a prominent British naval officer who served in the American Revolutionary War, the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. Whilst the first title is located in several institutions, I have been unable to trace the second title.

8vo. pp. 48; folding map. Original cloth, printed label to front cover. Fine. With the Raglan and Centilla book plates. Presentation copy, Inscribed by the author to Lord Raglan "Lord Fitzroy Somerset from the author Major Gawler 52nd Rgt." Gawler participated in the Peninsular War; he was a member of the storming party at Badojoz (with Raglan) where he was wounded; he fought at Waterloo as a lieutenant. He reached the rank of lieutenant-colonel in 1837 and was appointed Governor of South Australia in 1838.
